The New Moms Share Extraordinary Things About the New Dads

Congratulations on your embarking on an incredible journey of first-time parenthood!

Navigating through the first few days and months of the journey of parenthood may be a little daunting for both of you, but it is rewarding at the same time. How?

Breastfeeding the little one, trying to soothe the hungry or crying baby and adjusting to the new life can be overwhelming for a new mummy, no doubt. But making deeper connections with your child is your reward.

In all this, the new dad is an unwavering support and the best companion.

He shares caregiving responsibilities with the new mummy. Him being there by his wife’s side all the time, she feels a lot better and much more relaxed. His involvement and devotion towards her and their newborn baby can make the new mom feel extremely happy and very proud of him.

To express her happiness and pride she’s sure to praise him endlessly.

Here are some moms showing praise and pride in their partners being fathers:

A Girl-loving Dad

Research has shown that the dynamic between fathers and daughters is the most vital and powerful one. Dads have a lot of impact on his daughter’s whole image – her eating habits, or self-esteem. The father and daughter’s relationship can further a sense of responsibility and respect for her.

Therefore, when a famous baby care company researched this, it was found out that, in a Reddy family in Hyderabad, Sowmya Reddy gave birth to her second daughter. The traditional-minded family members thought that the little girl was a burden to their family. But, Mr. Reddy opposed it and said: “Having one daughter is lucky but having two is the luckiest!”

From that day till now, Soumya has felt extremely proud of getting the support of her partner then and happily called him “The Best Dad.”

A Monk-dad

Such husband-turned-first-time dads have an empathetic approach both towards the new mom and newborn. He could have very well imagined how challenging pregnancy has been for her. Now, holding the newborn in his hands, he can re-imagine how difficult it is for her to be comfortable with herself yet again. Being aware of the changing lifestyle, and new set of responsibilities, the new dad practices healthy love. He ensures the new mother enjoys every minute of the new mummy’s journey, and he  gradually becomes the baby-proofing expert, chef for both the baby and the new mummy, as well as the main caregiver in the family

A well-known baby care company conducted research, showing that a beautiful boy was born to the Gupta family based out of South Delhi. Since the baby was prematurely born, he needed a little extra care. Apart from the other things, the healthcare practitioner advised the baby to sleep on the father’s stomach and cuddle them while sleeping. He did it to reap the benefits of bonding with the baby from this stage. To which Mrs. Gupta said, “I already knew that he is a good father because we have a daughter as our first child.”

An Empathetic Partner and Newborn-soothing Dad

These dads can’t forget the night of their child’s birth. He doesn’t even forget that childbirth has left the new mummy exhausted. He understands what she has been through, is empathetic towards her pain, and is there for her whenever she needs him. It could be just giving a back massage after feeding the baby, but he’d ensure that she gets some rest and catches a few winks of sleep. With this, when he notices their child crying incessantly, and feeling cranky; he’d rock and sing to the baby and hold them close to make them quiet. That’s exactly what happened with Sreeja Sreedharan’s and Sunayana Srikanth from Bangalore, who deemed their partners  “The Best Dad” or “Super dad”

A Dad Who Loves Flaunting his “Dad status”

Maybe he could sit with the mother to hold the child while she’s breastfeeding. Changing the baby’s diapers, cleaning poop, and taking care of the crying child could also be part of the fatherhood journey.

Dads are Role Models

Indeed! That’s how Riki Urban, a famous blogger and fiction writer thinks about dads. They are role models in their daughter’s or son’s life by working towards their physical and emotional skill set since their infancy stage. This would ultimately contribute to their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

So, all the New Dads on the block, hope you nurture your DAD skill sets with the mummies and become a pro in just a few months or so.
