Furthermore, the white blood cells that are produced rather abnormally starts cluttering the bone marrow prohibiting the generation of other kinds of blood cells that further causes bleeding, bruises and also anaemia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-cord-blood-stem-cell-can-treat-leukaemia\"><b>How Cord Blood Stem Cell Can Treat Leukaemia?<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A cord blood stem cell transplant engages managing high amounts of chemotherapy and in some situations radiotherapy to kill the cancerous cells that\u2019s in the patient\u2019s bone marrow and blood stream. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cordlifeindia.com\/cord-blood\">The new cord blood stem cells<\/a> that have been transplanted to the body gradually learn to settle in the bone marrow, gradually giving birth to the healthy blood cells. Leukaemia being one! Here\u2019s the account of Lukas Waterman, who happens to be a doctor at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis that induces hope and courage. Lukas was first detected with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) back in 2003. Sometimes GVHD is a natural <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2016-04-25\/stem-cell-transplants-for-leukaemia-explained\/7351936\">off-shoot of bone marrow transplants<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In GVHD the transplanted immune cells of the donor, medically termed as the T cells start to grow and then attack the tissues and cells in the body, as it appears to them that it\u2019s an alien invader. In almost 50% of bone marrow stem cell transplant GVHD is a possible occurrence that has an adverse effect on the liver, skin, intestines, mouth and eyes. However, there\u2019s hope for this! A promising stem cell therapy named Prochymal that has been developed by Dr. Randy Mills, former CIRM President and CEO, Osiris Therapeutics is known to heal extreme cases of this disease.
